ESPN Screen slates

Partnering with ESPN, we developed Screen Slates, a set of scalable content concepts built to fill open commercial break inventory within the ESPN App. The brief called for four modular ideas, two entertainment-driven and two educational, each designed to flex from a quick :01 stinger up to a full :30, so the same visual system could work whether ESPN had a sliver of open time or a full break to fill. Producing the project meant working through concept development, design frames, motion tests, and animation to find layouts that could showcase the breadth of ESPN's content library and product priorities without feeling crowded or generic, while keeping every piece genuinely engaging enough to hold attention during a break rather than just occupy it. With four distinct concepts and a length range spanning thirty seconds down to one, there was a wide creative playground to work within, and no shortage of ways to make idle screen time feel worth watching.
